Spring Break / Upcoming Testing Schedule

We made it, Bronchos!

I hope you have a great Spring Break and are able to get some rest and recharge—you’ve earned it.

I also want to give you a heads-up that the state-mandated testing window for the MME, M-Step, and PSAT will begin on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Because of the testing schedule, our regular mentor meetings may need to be adjusted or rescheduled during that time.

You can always check when your mentor meetings are scheduled by visiting http://calendar.google.com. Please make it a habit to check your calendar regularly, especially over the next few weeks as the testing schedule may cause some changes.

You may have noticed that I canceled some mentor meetings earlier this week. I streamlined the schedule because there were a few double-booked appointments, and some were scheduled for meetings on multiple days each week. This should make things more consistent and easier to follow moving forward.

Regardless of any upcoming changes, your Google Calendar will always have the most accurate and up-to-date information about your meeting times.

Enjoy your break, and I’ll see you soon!

Spring Break Mentor Meetings

Good morning, Bronchos!

I wanted to give you a quick heads-up about next week. Since it is Spring Break, I’ll be canceling all mentor meetings. Don’t be alarmed when you see the cancellation notice come through -- I just don’t want anyone waiting around for me, because I promise I won’t be showing up. πŸ˜„

Our regular mentor meetings will resume on Monday, April 6, 2026.

Also, this coming Friday I will be sharing an overview of the upcoming state-mandated testing schedule, including the MME and PSAT, so you know what to expect.

Enjoy your break, get some rest, and I’ll see you after the fastest week of the school year!

Three more days...

Finish Strong Before Spring Break (and Happy Chip & Dip Day!)

It's Monday, Bronchos!

Happy Chip and Dip Day! Whether you're more of a chips-and-salsa person or prefer something classic like chips and French onion dip, today is a great reminder that the best combinations come from consistency—just like your effort in your courses each week.

As we head into the final stretch before Spring Break next week, this is your time to finish strong. Take a look at your progress, wrap up any missing or overdue assignments, and push yourself to end the week on a high note so you can head into break feeling confident and caught up. Please make sure you attend your scheduled mentor meeting this week, as these check-ins are an important part of your success and help keep you on track. You should also remember to complete this week’s Weekly Communication prompt by Friday at 11:59 PM, as this counts for your attendance and helps me support you moving forward.

Looking ahead, we will have state-mandated testing taking place in the weeks immediately after we return from Spring Break. I will be sending out a more detailed email later this week with everything you need to know, so be on the lookout for that.

For now, stay focused, stay motivated, and give this week your best effort—you’ve earned the break that’s coming. Let’s finish strong and then enjoy a well-deserved Spring Break!

A Week of Madness at BVS πŸ€

Happy Monday, Bronchos!

March Madness is tipping off this week, so let’s take a quick timeout to go over the game plan for the week ahead.

First up, today is a district-wide inservice day. That means there will be no mentor meetings. Think of it as a bye for meetings and a great opportunity to drive to the hoop on your coursework—use the time to catch up on overdue assignments or get ahead in your classes.

On Wednesday, Juniors will participate in the required Reality Store activity at Holly High School from 10:00–10:30 AM. Be sure to check your school email for the details Mrs. Voegle sent last week. If you attend the Reality Store, you do not need to attend your virtual mentor meeting that day. However, if you cannot or do not attend, you will need to schedule a mentor meeting so we can stay on track.

Also, the Weekly Communication has been posted and needs to be completed by 11:59 PM on Friday, March 20. Don’t let the clock run out—make sure you get your response in before the buzzer.

Let’s have a strong week, keep moving the ball forward in your classes, and avoid any academic turnovers.

Have a great week and enjoy the start of March Madness!

This Week's Update 03/09/26

Happy Monday, Brochos!

Happy National Barbie Day! Barbie has had hundreds of careers since she debuted on this date in 1959, so consider this a reminder that working hard in your classes helps keep your own future options wide open.

I wanted to send a quick update about the week ahead and a few important reminders.

First, Weekly Communication responses for this week are due by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. After this week, Weekly Communications will return to the normal schedule of being posted on Mondays and due by 11:59 PM on Fridays.

Tuesday is the end of the Count period, so if you missed your mentor meeting last Wednesday or Friday, please visit the bookings page as soon as possible to schedule a meeting and have your attendance counted for the week.

I will also be out of the building on Friday, March 13, and I will not be available from that day until the following Monday. During that time, you should continue working in your courses and doing your best to stay on pace with your progress goals.

If you have questions, please reach out before Friday.

Have a great week and keep making progress in your courses!

⚠️ Reality Store Checkbook Due This Week

Good morning, Broncho Juniors!

This is a reminder to complete the Reality Store Checkbook this week. I shared it with you through your school Google Drive account

You only need to complete the top portion, and it should take no more than about 10 minutes to finish.

I sent detailed directions to your school email on Friday, February 27, 2026, explaining exactly how to complete it. Please review that email before starting.

If you cannot find the directions email, just reply and let me know and I will send it to you again.

Please make sure this is completed this week so you stay on track.

Thank you,
Mr. Carpenter

This Week's Update

Good morning, Bronchos!!!

It's Read Across America Day / Dr. Seuss Day! Whether you’re reading for school or for fun, today is a great reminder that “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!” Let’s carry that energy into the new week.

Our upcoming school week runs Wednesday, March 4 through Tuesday, March 10.

Here are a few important reminders:

First, last week’s Weekly Communication is due tomorrow at 11:59 PM. If you haven’t completed it yet, make sure you log in and respond before the deadline. Staying consistent with these helps you reflect on your progress and keeps you on track.

Second, the next Weekly Communication will be posted at 8:00 AM on Wednesday and will be due Tuesday, March 10 at 11:59 PM. Plan ahead so you’re not rushing at the last minute.

Finally, please be sure you are attending your scheduled mentor meetings this week. If you’re unsure about your meeting time, check your school Google Calendar account for the correct day and time. Showing up prepared and on time makes a big difference in your success.

Let’s make it a strong, focused week. Keep reading, keep progressing, and keep pushing toward your goals!

As always, reach out if you need anything.

Mr. Carpenter
